Some of the more popular methods to hang pictures on wooden frames are:
1. Screw eyes and picture wire;
2. D-rings with picture hooks and/or picture wire;

4. Interlocking brackets.
Each method has something to offer, balancing between simplicity and security.
1. One of the oldest methods of picture hanging is the screw eye and picture wire. Screw eyes are installed on the back side rails of the frame, between one-quarter and one-third down from the top. Make sure you measure each side so the screw eyes are even. It? also easiest if you lightly punch start holes for the screw eyes. Then turn the screw eyes into the start holes slowly and evenly, careful not to splinter or distort the holes, until the eyes rest against the frame. String the picture wire through the eyes and secure it, leaving enough slack in the wire so that the apex is midway between the screw eyes and the top of the frame.
Picture wire is available braided, or more recently, in stainless steel. While the stainless steel is stronger, it is slightly less flexible. The choice will depend on the relative weight of your picture.
The wire can then be hung on a nail hammered into drywall or a stud, or a picture hook. Picture hooks are sold by weight class. When in doubt, always choose the hook rated for heaviest paintings. And hanging the picture on two hooks, spaced evenly about a third the width of the frame, is the most secure, though you will need to make sure the picture hooks are level to each other.
The screw eye method is relatively simple, requires few tools, and hangs the picture securely. However, it is easy when screwing in the eyes to slightly splinter the frame, compromising the strength of the fastener. Unless you are a real expert, screw eyes are probably best suited for smaller frames.
2. For heavy duty pictures, D-rings are often used, either with anchored screws or picture hooks alone, or with wire and picture hooks. The installation differs depending on which hanging method you prefer.
To use D-rings without picture wire, install them at the back top corners of the frame, making sure they are perfectly even, and low enough that the picture hook you choose for the wall will not rise above the top of your frame. (You will also need to be sure the picture hooks are perfectly level on the wall so your picture hangs level.) Pre-drill the holes (D-rings may have one or two holes), careful not to puncture the frame, and use the included screws to secure the D-ring. Then hang the D-rings directly onto heavy duty picture hooks or screws anchored into the wall.
If you use D-rings with picture wire, you will install them, like screw eyes, about one-quarter to one-third down from the top on the side rails of the frame. If the frame allows, rotate the hangers in slightly fashion hats, so they will be in line with picture wire when pulled taut. Pre-drill the holes, and fasten the D-rings with the included screws. String the picture wire through, allowing enough slack so that the apex of the wire is half-way between the D-rings and the top of the frame. Hang on either one or two heavy duty picture hooks.
This method takes a little more care with the drill, though it is effective and secure. It also requires a perfect measurement for both D-rings, and the picture hooks The_Dot_Com_Era_is_Back, as any miscalculation will make the picture crooked.
It is also worth noting that any installation using picture wire requires having to guess where the picture will actually hang, since the wire is hidden behind the frame. If you are doing the job solo, this can be frustrating. Also remember to use a wall anchor with D-rings as the weight of the picture may rip it out of the wall.
3. Sawtooth hangers. These familiar jagged-toothed hangers come in three types: nailed-on, screwed on and nailless. The nailless hangers are made of a tough composite which allows you to hammer tiny hooks on the ends of the hanger into the back of the frame without damaging the hanger.
Sawtooth hangers are installed in the center of the top back rail of the picture frame, either by nailing, screwing or hammering. The hanger should be low enough so it will not show above the top of the frame, and the teeth should face downward. Then hang the picture on a nail hammered into the wall, with about ? inch extending.
The obvious appeal of this method is its simplicity, especially with the nailless hanger. The nail, rather than a picture hook, can be a weak link in the process, however. And sawtooth hangers have a tendency to allow pictures to become crooked more easily or possibly fall off the wall. Additionally, there is an unfortunate tendency to break the frame or even the glass so be careful.
4. Interlocking brackets are a newer method for hanging pictures. These hangers do not use picture hooks or wire, but mount one bracket on the frame and one on the wall, with the frame bracket fitting onto the wall bracket.

As with the D-rings, this system involves a little more handiness with a drill. And like the D-ring, it is secure for heavier pictures. The greatest advantage is the ability to hang the picture level the first time, and have it stay level.

Yeah, the tone control will likely need replacing, but big whoop. It sounds beautiful, even with the dead strings on it. I even got him to throw in a case for $0. Bargain and a half.
How much I hear you all ask?
$499 Australian Dollars. Go do the math! I can抰 wait to finish paying this off in the next few weeks and going wild. It just seems to be that every guitar I want is falling right in front of me. I few months ago dior dior, I was really wanting an S-S-S Strat. Then I get a phone call from someone I had not seen in two years offering me her partner抯 guitar that he does not play. It was an S-S-S Strat. $100 later and it was mine. Now I get the PRS I抳e been wanting for years.
So here are my rules for pawn shop guitaring.
1. Never impulse buy
You see something you like, don抰 just grab it and run (unless you think you can get away without getting caught). Play the guitar for a while. Put it down and come back in the next few days. See if it still feels the same and has the same appeal as that initial reaction. The last thing that you want to do is to buy a guitar that you loved at the time only to take back to the same pawn shop a few weeks later.
2. Have a goal
This follows on from tip number one. Have a goal as to what type of guitar you are after. By that I mean you should a clear definition of what you want to buy. This will help you avoid the impulse buy, and focus your attention so you don抰 get distracted by all the shiny things in the shop. Going back to my PRS example, I抳e been looking for a nice guitar with soap bar style pickups now to round out my collection. I wasn抰 necessarily after a PRS, but that came as a giant bonus. It was the only guitar that had the features I was after, and as such was the only guitar I picked up and tried. Don抰 by a guitar that you don抰 need, unless of course it is something exceptional.
3. Play with the knobs and know how a guitar works
The ones on the guitar you dirty fiends. Turn all the knobs, waggle the lead, and flick all the switches. Make sure they all work versace by versace, and if not, have a rough idea if you can fix it yourself or how much it may cost you. You don抰 want to spend $100 on a guitar and then have to do $300 worth of work on it. The PRS has a busted tone pot, and I can most likely fix that myself, and at worse, I no someone who will fix it for a few beers. You also need to know a little about the setup of guitars. The PRS again is a great example. The strings were to low, and after looking down the neck I could tell the issue was just the bridge height. Simple things like that can get you a bargain. This guitar had been ignored my who knows how many people before me because they did not know how to correct that simple problem. A little knowledge is your friend here.
4. Try some different amps
This is very important. The person running the pawn shop will always plug you into a small Fender combo and crank the reverb. I honestly think that those small combos were designed by Fender exclusively for the pawn shop industry because they make every guitar sound great. So try the guitar with that crappy 15W no name amp as well. It will give you a much better idea on the true sound quality.
5. Don抰 pay for the case
From my experience, the person who pawns off any decent guitar will have had it in a case, and the case will likely be out the back of the shop. Ask about the case, ask if it is included in the price The_Quest_For_Perfect_Guitar_Tone, and if not ask why not. 75% you抣l get the case for free, 20% heavily discounted, and the remaining 5% involves you walking out of the store. They want the sale just a bad as you want to buy the guitar so let them chase you.

At First I Didn't Believe It
I heard about the law of averages only a few weeks after I started Internet Marketing.
I was told that after I had used a certain marketing method for a few weeks, I would notice a trend. The gadgets that allow this integration are called "media adapters." The category hasn't yet attracted much attention among the electronics-shopping crowds at Best Buy or Circuit City. The $280 device looks like a set-top cable TV box steamrollered to about 1.5 centimeters in thickness. It resides next to your TV and stereo system, where it communicates with your PC using a conventional wired network--if you're lucky enough to have Ethernet cables built into your walls--or an 802.11g Wi-Fi wireless connection.
Using a remote control and a simple graphical interface displayed on your TV, you can call up digital movies men bags, videos, photos, or nonencrypted music stored on any PC or hard drive attached to your home network. Your computer will compress the files and send them to the Digital Entertainer in streaming form as fast as your network can handle them. That means up to 100 megabits per second for a wired Ethernet connection and 54 megabits per second for an 802.11g connection. Both are enough to stream HD video, if that's what you've got stored.
Netgear's competitors offer similar boxes in the same price range; D-Link's Media Lounge DSM 320, for example, goes for $200. Buffalo Technology's LinkTheatre wireless HD media player lists at $490 but goes for $283 on Amazon. But for people who don't already have 802.11g routers for their computers or Ethernet connections in their living rooms, a few companies are offering media adapters based on newer technologies burberry hats, notably UWB and powerline networking.
UWB chip sets from Hauppauge, NY-based semiconductor maker Tzero, for example, are finding their way into media devices from Audiovox affliction bikini, Siemens, ViewSonic, and other consumer-electronics companies. UWB devices send data over a large range of frequencies, rather than over specific channels, as Wi-Fi routers and most other wireless devices do. This protects signals against interference and allows time-based rather than frequency- or amplitude-based signal modulation, meaning UWB signals can carry up to 480 megabits of data per second over short distances (10 meters or less), according to Tzero. At CES, Tzero and Audiovox plan to introduce a UWB media adapter, to be marketed under Audiovox's Terk brand name, that can connect PCs, set-top boxes, HD DVD players and DVRs, and big-screen displays without the usual tangle of cables.
And there's one more way to link entertainment devices without adding new wires: plug straight into your home's electrical outlets. Electronics vendors have been talking up powerline networking in the home for ages DEALING WITH OTHERS, but interference problems and bandwidth limitations have kept the idea from catching on (see "Are Powerline Networks Finally Ready?" June 2001). Arkados is one of the companies that will argue at CES that the technology is now ready for consumers. It's working with GigaFast and other manufacturers to put its chips and software into small "bridge" devices that can connect a PC to any television in a home. The devices can transmit data at up to 100 megabits per second--more than enough for HD-quality video. (For $250, Netgear will sell you a powerline adapter for the Digital Entertainer.)
Apple may actually make the biggest home-networking splash at CES How_To_Care_For_Your_DVDs_Properly, even though Steve Jobs and crew will be 400 miles away at San Francisco's MacWorld convention, slated for January 8 through 12. The company is expected to preview--or at least talk about--a set-top device dubbed "iTV" that wirelessly streams iTunes music, videos clothes shop, or movies from any computer in the home to a TV set. Given consumers' familiarity with Apple digital media products like the iPod gucci handbags, an Apple entry in the media-adapter market could severely limit the opportunities for competitors like Netgear or D-Link.
Despite all these newfangled networking technologies, Sneakernet may not be dead yet. Think of it this way: if you carry a 4.7-gigabyte DVD down a ten-meter-long hallway at one meter per second, you've effectively "transmitted" the data on that disc at more than 3,700 megabits per second--a speed home networks won't be reaching for a long time.
